Composition

Each 100 ml of solution for infusion contains :

Levofloxacin Hemyhidrate 512,5 mg equivalent to Levofloxacin Anhydrate 500 mg.

One ml of solution for infusion contains 5 mg of Levofloxacin.

 

Indication

  • Acute maxillary sinusitis
  • Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
  • Community aquired pneumonia
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Complicated urinary tract infections, include Pyelonephritis

 

Recommended Dosage

Difloxin 5 mg/ml solution for infusion as administered by slow intravenous infusion for 7 - 14 days. The dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection. Given the bioequivalence of the oral forms, the same dosage can be used.

Patients with renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance ≤ 50 ml/min)

Then : 125 mg/ 48 hr

First dose : 500 mg

Then : 125 mg/ 24 hr

< 10 ml/min (including haemodialysis and CAPD*)

First dose : 250 mg

Then : 125 mg/ 48 hr

First dose : 500 mg

Then 125 mg/ 24 hr

* No additional doses are required after haemodialysis or continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)

 

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to Levofloxacin, patients with epilepsy, patients with history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone administration, children, during pregnancy or lactation.
