Composition

Biocef® : Cefotaxime vial 1 g + amp 4 ml (water for injections) x 1’s

Biocef® is a cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal effect. The anti-bacterial activity with gram-negative rod bacteria is much higher than that of conventional cephalosporins and penicillins.


Indication
Severe serious infection caused by cefotaxime-sensitive microorganisms : infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections, infections of the genital organs, sepsis, bacteremia, bones and joint infections, meningitis.

Recommended Dosage

Adults and children > 12 years : 1 g IM/IV every 12 hrs. In moderate to severe infections : 1 – 2 g IM/IV every 8 hrs or 2 g every 6-8 hrs.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to Cephalosporins.
