Composition
Each tablet contains : Misoprostol 200 mcg

Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin E1, analog with ulcer healing properties. Misoprostol promotes peptic ulcer healing and symptomatic relief. Misoprostol protects the gastroduodenal mucosa both by inhibiting basal, stimulated and nocturnal acid secretion and by reducing the volume of gastric secretion, the proteolytic activity of the gastric fluid and increasing bicarbonate and mucus secretion.

Indication

Healing of duodenal ulcer and gastric ulcer including those induced by NSAIDs in arthritis patients at risk while continuing their NSAIDs therapy. Misoprostol can be used for the prophylaxis of NSAIDs induced ulcers

Recommended Dosage

Adults : 800 mcg daily in 2 – 4 divided doses.

Contraindication

Pregnant women or women of childbearing age, patients with a known allergy to prostaglandin.
